The following Terms & Conditions relate to the web site
known as 'The Genealogy Detective' (also referred to as 'the
web site' in these terms and conditions) - provided by Quantum
Enterprises.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
GENERAL
Acceptance Of The Terms & Conditions
By making a purchase or using a service provided by the web
site, the customer is accepting these terms and conditions in
full.
Suspension of Services
Quantum Enterprises reserves the right to suspend or cancel
any or all services at any time. In this case, if orders have
not been fulfilled, the customer will receive a full refund.
Service Lead Times
All service lead times are given as a guide only and Quantum
Enterprises is not responsible or liable for delays caused by
unforeseen circumstances, service continuity disruptions or high
demand.
Information provided by Quantum Enterprises
Quantum Enterprises does not guarantee the success of free
or purchased record lookups. The customer accepts that record
lookups or record searches may be unsuccessful and by using this
web site and services provided the customer also accepts that
a refund will not be given for unsuccessful lookups or record
searches.
Information provided by the Customer
Quantum Enterprises will not be held responsible or liable
for any outcome relating to the provision of incorrect or incomplete
information by the customer.
Errors & Omissions
Quantum Enterprises will not be held responsible or liable for
any outcome relating to the quality of information provided to
the customer, including outcomes from errors or omissions in
the information provided.
FREE CENSUS LOOKUPS
- Only one free lookup request is available to each visitor.
- Quantum Enterprises reserves the right to withdraw the free
service at any time.
- Quantum Enterprises does not warrant the success of the free
lookup service, nor the quality of the information provided.
CEMETERY RESEARCH
- Quantum Enterprises does not warrant the success of finding
any evidence of records of an ancestor during cemetery research.
- The customer accepts that, as the basis of the cost of cemetery
research is the travel costs and time taken, no refund can be
given if the research is unsuccessful. Cemetery research is therefore
a high risk purchase.
FAMILY TREE ENHANCEMENT
- The Family Tree Enhancement Service requests 'up front' payment
for successful research. In this case, the customer will be refunded
for research that is not completed, up to a maximum of £20
in any block of £25.
- A full refund will not be given - a basic cost of £5
covers administration costs.
ANCESTRAL HOME PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICE
- Every effort will be made to ascertain that the property
or locality exists and is accessible before acceptance of payment
for the Ancestral Home Photography Service. However, the customer
accepts that circumstances may prevent photography of the exact
location, and in this case will accept that photographs of the
general locality in which the ancestor lived will be provided
- without refund.
FREE ANCESTOR HANDWRITING ANALYSIS SERVICE
- The handwriting analysis services we provide are for entertainment
purposes only. We do not provide services such as signature comparison,
handwriting verification, forgery detection, or any service which
would be connected with criminal investigation.
- The FREE offer may be terminated at any time without prior
notice. Quantum Enterprises will not be held liable for the quality
or continuity of the service, nor for any losses or circumstances
arising from lack of service continuity.
- No liability can be accepted for the accuracy of the analysis,
or the use, or misuse, of the information provided
- The information in the analysis remains the confidential
property of the named instigator, who accepts full responsibility
for any outcome relating to the disclosure of this information
to a third party.
ANTIQUE PHOTO RESTORATION
- Quantum Enterprises will not accept original antique photographs
supplied in the mail.
- Antique photographs supplied in the mail against these instructions
will be returnable at the customer's expense.
- Quantum Enterprises will not be held responsible or liable
for any outcome, damage or loss of antique photographs during
the process of the customer making a digital image of the photograph.
COPYRIGHT
All images and content are subject to copyright, and may not
be used without written permission from Quantum Enterprises.
ADDITIONAL COSTS
Additional costs are as shown with the price of goods or
services ordered. There is no additional tax to pay on the price
of goods you see.
THE RIGHT TO CANCEL YOUR ORDER
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations
2000 you have the right to cancel your order, for any reason,
within 7 working days of placing your order. However, this right
to cancel only applies to goods that can be returned (i.e. photographic
prints, certificates and CD-ROMs).
You may only cancel order for services that provide the results
by e-mail BEFORE you receive them.
By placing an order for non-returnable goods that will be
delivered / supplied before the 7 day cooling off period has
expired, you are agreeing to forfeit your right to cancel after
non-returnable goods have been shipped.
If you do decide to cancel your order within the cooling off
period, and this cancellation meets the above requirements, your
money will be refunded in full.
Returnable goods must be returned to Quantum Enterprises within
21 days of cancellation, in original condition, at the customer's
expense.
SERVICE CONTINUITY
Quantum Enterprises will not be held liable for any lack
of continuity of our services, nor for any losses or circumstances
arising from lack of service continuity.
SECURITY
All credit card transactions are processed by PayPal. No
information regarding credit card details is transmitted to Quantum
Enterprises, and Quantum Enterprises cannot be held responsible
for fraudulent or misuse of credit cards or credit card information.
AFFILIATES
Quantum Enterprises only provides links to, and is not responsible
for, the service provided by its affiliates (PayPal).
